At Captug, we are convinced that achieving real transformation requires evolving the way financial risks and technical uncertainties associated with research and innovation are managed. For this reason, we have developed our own methodology that orchestrates different sources of resources, fostering public–private collaboration and the creation of investment vehicles that ensure the necessary means are available at the right time for the most ambitious scientific and technical programs to achieve their objectives.
We firmly believe in strengthening the science and research ecosystem as a country’s main socio-economic and strategic driver. Aware that transferring research to the market is one of the major challenges of the science, technology, and innovation system, both in Spain and globally, we support leading institutions and research teams in bringing together the financial resources required and bridging the gap between available funding and the real execution potential, accelerating access to private investment at pre-seed, seed, and subsequent stages.
Through tailored operations, we expand financing capacity by creating vehicles that allow each R&D&I initiative to fully deploy its potential, while contributing to achieving the best possible outcomes for each research institution and the other participating entities.

The traditional binomial of risk-return in an investment is not enough for a society that is increasingly committed to the challenges it faces. There is a new paradigm in which impact is incorporated as a key factor in investor decision-making.

Social impact investing seeks to generate a financial return, while achieving a positive impact on society or the environment. This means that it seeks to obtain economic returns,
but also create value and contribute to the solution of social, environmental or governance problems.

Investors are increasingly interested in investing in companies that have a positive impact on society, as they seek to align their values with their investment decisions. These investors are willing to sacrifice part of their financial return if it means generating positive change in the world.

In this new paradigm, Captug is committed to a new way of approaching the promotion of R&D&i , integrating philanthropy as a complementary tool to impact investment. Combining impact investment and philanthropy allows us to maximize the reach and impact of R&D&i programs.
